07 — MASCOT

Slantern is the Asrosan mascot. It is the mark, stood up and given somewhere to look: three bars under a hood, one lens, one antenna, leaning 14° forward. It appears where the site wants a companion rather than a logo, and it never replaces the mark.

ORIGIN

Slantern was born the day the mark was drawn, in the negative space between its three bars. It leans 14°, like the mark. It has never once stood up straight. It does not speak; when it has something to say, the lens brightens, and the antenna tip pings.

CONSTRUCTION

  1. 01 — Leans exactly 14° forward, the mark's skew. The feet stay level.
  2. 02 — Three bars, turquoise / neutral / gold, left to right. Bar width to gap is 2 : 1, as in the mark.
  3. 03 — Hood radius equals half the body width: one half-circle, cut by the two gaps.
  4. 04 — One circular lens in the middle bar, centred, in the upper third. It is never skewed with the body.
  5. 05 — Antenna rises from the hood apex: a short stem and a gold tip.
  6. 06 — Two wedge feet in a dark neutral, the front one longer, so the lean holds.
  7. 07 — Clear space around the mascot equals the height of the antenna.
  8. 08 — Minimum size is 24 px wide. Below that, use the mark.

DO

  • — Use it on a plain field: black, white, or a single brand colour.
  • — Use one pose per surface. Idle is the default.
  • — Let it lean. Space is on the side it leans toward.

DON'T

  • — Never straighten it.
  • — Never reorder or recolour the bars.
  • — Never add a mouth.
  • — Never mirror it, including in right-to-left layouts.
